BJØRG DYG NIELSEN (DK)

Bjørg studied art at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, where they specialised in glass art.

Bjørg highly values making art accessible for people who do not frequent art museums and galleries and believes that art should be decentralised and for everyone, including the text and conversation around it. Bjørg is therefore particularly interested in making art in public spaces and rural areas.

Today too we are here II / Også i dag er vi her II  (2024)

The idea for the work came from a trip to Norway where the artist noticed that the wooden poles that carry the electric cables look like two good friends with their arms around each others shoulders, performing the work together. You cannot tell whether the two entities are supporting each other, keeping the cables and the glass orb up, or squeezing each other.

A fitting reflection of human relations.
