JAN DETAVERNIER (BE)

Besides being an artist Jan Detavernier has a background as an engineer in industrial design. Deeper insights from mathematics and physics form the foundation of Jan's idealistic art practice.

Through his installations and pavilions in green environments, he aims to create spaces for tranquility, wonder and celebration.

The aesthetic appeal of his work serves as a stepping stone toward a connection with the spiritual world—a metaphysical space where emotions and thoughts are closely intertwined. With this experience, Jan seeks to reconnect people with themselves by restoring their connection with nature.

Temple Earth - Hestøya (2024)

In search for the spatial elements in nature
The temple is defined by it’s path
The island claims it

5 pillars ready to rise
Defined by carved patterns in the rocks
A matrix for creation

One with nature
Connected to our own
Opens for the other
We are all one

The sanctuary holds a divine flower
